This is a wonderful and concise overview of your process for creating an illustration style—thanks for putting this together. I really like the approach, and as someone who does both web development and illustration, I scratched my head and asked “how come it didn’t occur to me to do this for illustration work??” :)

I have a question, do you always propose to clients that this illustration style is created? Put differently, for one off projects, and/or for budget challenged clients, or single spot illustration gigs, do you still sort of insist that this is the only way you will work, or, do you build it in to your process, or perhaps just do the first part of getting the “Define” questions answered and then not bother with creating a generic illustration and trying out a bunch of styles?
